4-5-1 with Vaughan versus Saints?

Vaughan was probably the most eye-catching signing of the summer when he arrived from Real Sociedad for £200,000. But the midfielder is still waiting for his first start in a Blackpool shirt.

Boss Grayson looks likely to hand Vaughan his chance from the start on Saturday after admitting to the Gazette: ‘There will be an opportunity for him somewhere down the line, probably sooner than he thinks, when he will be in the starting 11’.

And with Grayson opting for a five man midfield in the Seasiders’ only other away league game at Norwich, it seems likely Vaughan will slot in alongside Jorgensen, GTF and former Saints players Adam Hammill and Jermaine Wright.

But is playing only one striker the way forward in every away fixture for Pool? Steve Kabba made an encouraging debut alongside Ben Burgess last week but if we play 4-5-1 Kabba will surely lose his place. Or if BBB is dropped how would Kabba cope on his own upfront when he lacks any great aerial threat and genuine pace?

Larry will need to get his team selection spot on against the Saints who won 1-0 at Derby last Saturday and 2-0 at home to Birmingham in the league cup last night.

So who would you play and in what system? Check out the forum where bispham_tangerine has already chosen a five man midfield.
