Let’s keep this short shall we?

Wrong team selection and an awful performance resulted in Blackpool collapsing to a 3-1 defeat against rivals Burnley this evening.

After the attacking pomp shown against Forest, Ian Holloway – presumably because it was a local derby – recalled Keith Southern and Brett Ormerod, almost setting his stall out for a draw. And he was punished for such negativity.

Burnley took the lead on 20 minutes; Junior Stanislas’ cross headed home by Charlie Austin.

They were soon 2-0 up; Ross Wallace firing home a superb freekick from just outside the area.

‘Pool were improved in the second half, but failed to get back in the game, even after a triple substitution.

Burnley sealed the three points when Mariv Bartley fired home from close range.

Jonjo Shelvey did score a consolation for us late on, but the damage had well and truly already been done.

The reactions of both the fans and the team (+ Ollie) to tonight are going to be very interesting to say the least…
