Charlie Adam has been hauled from the international wilderness by Scotland manager George Burley.

The 23-year-old made two caps for his national side back in 2007 but has been overlooked ever since.

But now – thanks to a stunning start to the season from central midfield – Burley is set to take a punt on Adam.

That starts with a trip to Japan on 10th October in a friendly game.

Although great news for Charlie and the club as a whole, there are some critics of this move. He has visibly been struggling with fitness and/or health in the last few games and some would argue that a tripo halfway around the world isn’t a wise option.
