Blackpool boss Ian Holloway has today stated that a deal to bring Rangers midfielder Charlie Adam to the club is ‘very very close’.

Speaking to ‘Talksport’, the manager spoke of differing things from the sides poor showing at Rochdale on Saturday to possible new signings.

However, in keeping with the club’s line of not leaking transfer targets – other than the very public Adam transfer saga – he didn’t mention any names, which are thought to include Neal Eardley and Reuben Reid.

But the good news for The Seasiders is that Ollie spoke with Adam yesterday and it is likely that the Scotsman will be unveiled as a tangerine this week, barring any new obstacles.

This has come as late as the club were prepared to go, with yesterday’s negotiations coming on D-day for Adam after ‘Pool set Monday as a deadline for getting in touch with them upon making a contract offer to the player early last week.

Expect a signing before the clash tonight against Carlisle United.
