Elliot Grandin wants to leave Blackpool according to an article in today’s edition of French newspaper L’Equipe.

The 24 year old French midfielder was in and out of the side last season and is believed to have struggled to settle on the Golden Mile (particularly language wise), but it appears that ‘Pool’s relegation from the Premier League is the main reason behind his desire to leave the club.

Grandin was brought to the club on the recommendation of Stoke’s European scout Gary Penrice (a big mate of ‘Pool manager Ian Holloway), having previously been on trial at the Potters.

It would be fair to say that the Frenchman’s ability split the Bloomfield Road faithful; there were times when he looked brilliant, and times where he looked unsuited to the English game.

According to his agent (quoted in L’Equipe), Grandin has interest from clubs in France and Italy, as well as three clubs in the Premier League. Indeed, his agent states that ‘this will always be better than the Championship’.

However, it remains to be seen whether the Seasiders would be prepared to sell Grandin – the player is still under contract, and Ollie has said that the likes of him and Ludovic Sylvestre will be big players for the club next season.
