A heavy five one defeat for Blackpool in the final game of the 2015/16 League One campaign today confirmed what many would say had long been known.
With relegation from the Championship last season, and set against a backdrop of further efforts to see a change in ownership of the club, Blackpool dropped to successive relegations and will welcome in the 2016/17 campaign with life in League Two.
Confirmation of the relegation won’t have surprised many, and McDonald’s frustration at seeing the side go down in that manner was clear, but questions following the game quickly turned to his own future.
