Baps Trots Off.

Alex John Baptiste has turned down a new deal at the Seaside and has instead taken a step down and signed a 3 year deal at Bolton Wanderers.

It is just three years ago that Baps was a part of a Blackpool team that won the play-off final and hit the Premier league. He commanded great respect in the Premiership, often linked with a return their, but it is Bolton who have sealed the deal.

Just a few years ago, he was heading out of the football league as Mansfield where relegated, a tip off from Billy Dearden brough him to Blackpool for little more than coppers (an absolute bargain).

This year, Baps ended up with the captains armband following the fallout between Barry Ferguson and the club. Arguably not the best of decisions; as good a player as he is -he does not come across as the most vocal. It is also fair to say this season was not his best. Sometimes a change is as good as a rest.

We will certainly miss him, we are grateful to him for his service and efforts. But at least this is one decision Paul Ince now knows of and he can get on with the task of building for next year.
