Alex John-Baptiste is being courted by Championship rivals Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forests, reports suggest.

The 23-year-old had the best possible debut season for The Seasiders after joining for a nominal fee from Mansfield Town.

And his man-of-the-match displays at right back have led to his stock rising, which has alerted others.

It was rumoured that AJB wanted to move nearer his family, which would indicate that Nottingham Forest could be a likely destination.

However, he has a year to run on his contract – just like friend Shaun Barker, who is still interesting Forest’s rivals Derby County.

Nothing is likely to be sorted until the managerial situation resolves itself, with interviews finishing today.

Alan Knill and Ian Holloway are the two front runners for the job, with Steve Thompson, Gary Brabin and Andy Ritchie also linked.
