BFC Silent On ‘Bonus Row’

Reports once again surfaced yesterday that a number of players at Blackpool are in dispute with the club over unpaid bonuses.

Club president Valeri Belokon pledged a £5 million pool to be split between the squad should they reach the Premier League, but apparently the players are yet to see any money.

The club have refused to comment on the speculation, which may suggest that there is some sort of issue; if there wasn’t surely they would have just flatly denied the story and be done with it rather than adding to the speculation?

Manager Ian Holloway met with chairman Karl Oyston yesterday after returning from his holiday early, and it is believed that one of the issues discussed was bonuses. However, we believe that Ollie was primarily there to talk to transfer targets, with ex Arsenal full back Kerrea Gilbert spotted at the club.

What should have been a great summer has been somewhat tarnished by the reported financial shenanigans at Bloomfield Road, and as much as you hope that all is well, the phrase ‘there’s no smoke without fire’ springs to mind.

In better news, it was confirmed today that recently retired striker Steve McPhee has joined the coaching staff at the club.

Meanwhile, possible target Gary Hooper has been left out of Scunthorpe’s team today and it is reported that he is not injured. Could he be on his way to the Seasiders?

£40million in the kitty, well done the lads, but lets see come next week when Ollie gets back a nice £10million being spent on players. And sort the bonuses out please – – the lads have done us all proud 🙂
