Billy Awaits The Seasiders…

Former PKE boss, Billy ‘looking vulnerable’ Davies awaits Blackpool in the Carling Cup Second round after the draw pitted ‘Pool with an away trip to Premier League newcomers, Derby County.

It looks a decent draw to me, as we haven’t played County since 1986 (a one-nil home defeat) so no Blackpool fans have had the oppurtunity to see the new(ish) Pride Park.

Simon Grayson’s men have every chance of winning the tie, with Derby’s minds probably on other things this season. On paper, their squad doesn’t look to be any better than a top Championship side (we beat one of those last week y’know?) and if we go there with the right mental attitude and try to attack them, I’ll stick my neck out and say we’ll beat them.

Other ties included Morecambe travelling to Wolves, and Bristol City playing host to Manchester City.

Onenotable tie that caught the eye was PKE playing that famous old club, no-one. Should be a cracker!
