Simon Grayson’s Blackpool side blew visitors Northampton away in the second half, and ran out 4-1 victors.

It wasn’t all plain sailing though for ‘Pool. Town went ahead through a Cox goal on 42 minutes after shabby defending by the home team. The first half performance by The Seasiders was one of complacency and poor quality, and they went in 1-0 behind at half time.

After the woeful Adrian Forbes was hauled off at the break, ‘Pool picked up with substitute Chris Brandon showing some nice touches.

And it was to be Brandon who scored the equaliser for Blackpool. As he stubbled past Town defenders the ball broke for him and he netted his first goal whilst on loan at the seaside on 49 minutes.

Five minutes later, a handball in the area presented Wes Hoolahan with a chance to take the lead from the spot: which he did do easily.

Then several moments later and just past the hour mark, Keigan Parker found Brandon un-marked on the right hand side of the box and the Huddersfield loanee smashed the ball into the corner of Mark Bunn’s goal.

The icing on the cake came on 84 minutes when a cross was slid into his own goal by Shaun Dyche and the match finished 4-1.
