Gary Bowyer has reportedly, according to HITC Sport, identified Jamille Matt as a possible transfer target?

Bowyer, appointed as the latest Blackpool boss of course recently, is looking to add players to the Pools squad that should be capable of (bare minimum) retaining our Football League status next season to stop the rot and slide towards non-league football, however something a little better will be his aim!

Could Matt be a good option to help us achieve something resembling success?

Matt, released by rivals Fleetwood at the end of his contract, had a successful loan with Plymouth last season. They want him so we’ll have to compete with them, Grimsby and Colchester according to the reports.

In his 14-matches for Plymouth during that loan spell to end last season (with him helping the Pilgrims to the play-off final when they lost to AFC Wimbledon) Matt scored seven-goals with him a proven goalscorer at this level so he’ll be a good signing on a free transfer.

Rumour has it his preferred destination would be Plymouth but it’s also thought he could be swayed towards a club he feels are ‘most likely’ to be challenging for promotion.
