Owen Oyston last week said Blackpool wouldn’t be sold with the club ‘not for sale’ regardless to how much this is something the vast majority of fans would want.
Claims in the Daily Mail of a £10m offer raised hopes a takeover could happen?
But this has been played down with the club denying any fresh takeover approach for Blackpool has been made.
A statement on the Official Website read.
‘Blackpool Football Club would like to make clear that no offer has been received to takeover the club, despite a report on the Daily Mail’s website. The owners of the club, who held their most recent board meeting on 4 July, with Kaspars Varpins in attendance on behalf of Valeri Belokon, have received no approach whatsoever, from any investor or third party. This isn’t the first instance of erroneous reporting by the Daily Mail, with the club not being offered the courtesy to comment on the story prior to its publication.’
The Oyston families reign will go on with the Blackpool Supporters Trust (BST) launched takeover last year eventually failing.
A £16m bid was made in July 2015 but Owen Oyston eventually ended those takeover talks with (it would seem) no approach even made this time….despite rumours to the contrary?
