Blackpool Still Hunting For ‘That’ Striker

Blackpool are still searching for a striker who will score the goals to keep them in The Championship for another season.

Reports today in the national press claim that The Seasiders have been turned down by Crystal Palace pair James Scowcroft and Shefki Kuqi yet again.

And with them being the main public targets – along with Burnley’s Ade Akinbiyi – it is looking likely that Tony Parkes will have to loan a forward not yet mentioned in the media.

It seems that ‘Pool’s season hinges on this next loan signing, with Chairman Karl Oyston describing that he will ‘have to fulfil a certain role,’ and in laymen terms, a striker who can score five goals in the remaining ten games to stave off relegation.

Nottingham Forest have today signed Gary McSheffrey on loan from Birmingham City, whilst we signed youngster Nick Blackman from Blackburn Rovers earlier in the week.

Whatever happens between now and Saturday, Blackpool desperately need a new striker on loan for two months until May 3rd, otherwise relegation looms large.

I’d expect a signing before Norwich travel to Bloomfield Road on Saturday, but whether or not he has Championship pedigree remains to be seen.
