Vital Player of the Season 2008
Blackpool Vital will again be in attendance at the Blackpool FC awards evening in May to present the ‘Vital Player of the Season’ award for the second year. Last year, current captain Shaun Barker picked up the plate (with forum members kindly contributing to the price) and there are six contenders this term, with Shaun not being amongst them.
The six contenders for the award are:
Central Defender Kaspars Gorkss
Left Back Stephen Crainey
Left Midfielder Wes Hoolahan
Central Midfielder Claus Jorgensen
Right Midfielder Gary Taylor-Fletcher
Striker Ben Burgess
After such a tremendous year of football – which should culminate in seeing us safe in The Championship – it was hard to pick individuals out in what has been a team performance throughout the year. Right Back Shaun Barker, Goalkeeper Paul Rachubka and Midfielder Keith Southern all deserve praise also.
But it is the above six (which include the clubs top goalscorer, two internationals and the two bargains of the season) who we are going with, so get voting now!
On the bottom right hand side of your screen you will notice the Player of the Season poll, and that is the only place where we will be taking votes – any emailed or personal messaged will not count.

Well look whos laughing now!
Hoolahan for me “I’m his number 1fan.”
Steven Crainey. Brilliant season. It’s a shame GTF came on late in the season as he may well have been my first choice.
