Blackpool are set to capture their sixth signing in 24 hours, as Chris Basham is set to sign from Bolton Wanderers, the Blackpool Gazette is reporting.

Basham, who turned 22 in June, can play in midfield and across the back four and is set for a medical this morning.

The deal with Wanderers is thought to be an initial £500,000 which could rise based on appearances.

At 6’3, the player represents more of a threat in the air both attacking and defending which could prove crucial in a ‘Pool side which was relatively small last season.

Trotters boss Owen Coyle was said to be loathed to let the youngster leave, but told the press he wouldn’t stand in his way if a good offer came in from the Seasiders.

And it seems that Karl Oyston has loosened the purse strings somewhat this week, allowing Ian Holloway to bring in his top targets.

The new attitude around Bloomfield Road recently will see Ollie pen a new two-year rolling contract in the immediate future, the national press are reporting.

Rumours that the mastermind behind ‘Pool’s promotion was thinking of walking out on the club were totally unfounded and a result of Sky Sports trying to cook up a story.

Everything now looks rosy in the tangerine garden and the team are all set for a massive trip to Wigan on Saturday, where they should now be joined by Chris Basham and Dekel Keinan; the latter set to sign very soon.
