Although, despite looking set to retain a familiar face or two, newly appointed Blackpool boss Gary Bowyer will be allowed to bring in his own coaching staff.

Richie Kyle is the only member of former boss Neil McDonald’s coaching staff that remained, he’ll keep his job under Bowyer who is expected to turn to his former Blackburn assistant with talks already underway to make this happen?

Kyle, unlike goalkeeping coach Steve Banks, kitman Russ Byrne-Frazer and chief scout Peter Glover who all left Bloomfield Road when McDonald moved on following relegation from League 1, has stay at Blackpool and with Bowyer familiar with the man who was promoted into the first-team coaching set up last season the boss isn’t unhappy with him staying with Pool.

He told the Blackpool Gazette.

‘I know Richie, he was in the Blackburn academy coaching set-up when I was there, and I know Ciaran Donnely (Pool`s head of youth) too who was in that system. It`s good to come into a place where there`s one or two familiar faces who I know.’

Bowyer, who reportedly beat his main rivals Richie Barker to the job with the MK Dons assistant interviewed, is expected to bring in his former assistant from his time in charge at Blackburn Terry McPhillips adding him as part of this coaching team he’ll assemble.
