Gary Bowyer could turn to a familiar face, if reports from the Blackpool Gazette are correct?
Chris Brown worked with Bowyer when he was the boss at Blackburn, having signed him from Doncaster two-years ago, with the striker becoming a free agent next month having been released by the Championship club.
After spells with Sunderland, Norwich and Preston 31-year-old Brown enjoyed success with his hometown club Doncaster but in his two-years with Blackburn he struggled for form and fitness, failing to score in 30-matches at Ewood Park.
Bowyer has said he’s looking to bring through players at Bloomfield Road with those he brings in being experienced, the Blackpool Gazette quotes him as saying.
‘I`m passionate about bringing players through but at the same time I don`t want my squad to be too young. Looking at my squad here we are very young and I want to bring in three or four experienced heads. It`s something I`ve already spoken to players about but they have to be the right types.’
Brown fits that bill doesn’t he?
With 15 players in the squad at the moment the common thoughts are Bowyer’s looking to get a squad of around 22 in place, not that he was giving too much away, adding.
‘I don`t think I can specify an actual number of players I want, I won`t limit myself. We have to see what the balance of the squad is like when we start adding players.’
