Interest in Bright Osayi-Samuel isn’t new with Arsenal and Tottenham previously linked with him. Everton and Aston Villa are also keeping tabs on him according to the Birmingham Mail.

Despite being just 19 Osayi-Samuel has already made over 50 appearances for Blackpool with his ability not going unnoticed.

Gary Bowyer doesn’t want to lose the winger but the Blackpool boss has already admitted he’s not got much hope of keeping him – and others – at Bloomfield Road if these clubs who are sending scouts to watch the likes of Osayi-Samuel firm up interest.

He was quoted – by this report – as saying.

‘My philosophy is simple – if people are coming to watch us, then it is a sign that we are doing something right and are helping players to progress. We have some good young players here and it does not surprise me. If there is a young player playing regular first-team football anywhere up or down the country, then the big boys have to do their job properly. Do I want to lose any of the players? No, but I realise we are in League Two.’

We’ll retain the services of the Nigerian-born teenager until the summer at least with Osayi-Samuel’s contract set to expire in the summer. However, Blackpool do have an option of a further 12 months that will be taken up.

Blackpool are likely to include Osayi-Samuel in the squad that faces Crawley as we look to close the eight point gap between us and the play-off positions, which we’ve slipped away from recently after four draws in the last five.
