The Seasiders head to Turf Moor tomorrow evening in search of a first away win against their Lancashire rivals since 1998.

Simon Grayson and his team sit in 12th place, level on points with Sheffield United in the playoffs, after two straight 1-0 victories away at Southampton and at home against Barnsley.

The hosts overcame Nottingham Forest at the City Ground last weekend, with two goals from veteran defender Graham Alexander enough to secure The Clarets’ first victory of the campaign.

Expectations in East Lancashire have risen a great deal this season, with the astute signings of Steven Thompson and Martin Paterson, coupled with a big money deal for winger Chris Eagles. However, it is rumoured that the latter has disrupted harmony at the club. That, and poor early season form has left the natives restless, although being only two points off the top six.
