Blackpool have had some good news, we don’t get too much of this do we, that Henry Cameron has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club for another two-years at least.
Many expected the 17-year-old to leave this summer, with reports linking him with others following our relegation, but a new deal has been announced. A cynical man might say this has been signed to ensure we get more if, and not when, he does leave Bloomfield Road….
Lets be positive though as this is good news at the start of the Neil McDonald era.
Cameron’s told the Official Website that he was happy to be rewarded with this new contract after a six-months, whilst difficult for the club as a whole, that he’s enjoyed with this deal something he’s worked hard for.
With this signed he’s looking for a regular first-team place next season and is keen to play a part in getting us ‘back to where we belong.’
‘The last six months have just been unbelievable and I’m happy that I’ve been rewarded with this new contract.
‘I can’t wait to get started again now. I’ve heard a lot of good things about the new manager and it’s good that a familiar face in Richie Kyle will be with him.
‘The challenge now is to try and nail down a regular place in the team, get more goals and help the team get back to where it belongs.’
A welcome, if not unexpected, bonus isn’t it!
