Blackpool were heavily involved in the closing stages of the January transfer window with a number of players coming and going at Bloomfield Road.

A late departure was Danny Pugh after he came to an agreement with Blackpool to mutually end his contract allowing him to link up with his former Leeds teammate Michael Brown at Port Vale. Brown is the caretaker boss at Vale Park at the moment.

Pugh came to Bloomfield Road last summer when snapped up by Gary Bowyer on a free transfer after he came to the end of his Bury at contract and he had been a first team regularly.

The 34 year old midfielder had made 23 appearances for Blackpool and captained the side but after ending his Pools deal he signed a contract with Port Vale until the end of the season.

A statement on the Official Website read.

‘Danny Pugh has completed a switch to Port Vale on a deal until the end of the season. The midfielder, who joined Blackpool after leaving Bury in the summer, departs Bloomfield Road having made 23 appearances this season. The move sees him link-up with his former Leeds United team-mate Michael Brown, who is currently in caretaker charge of The Valiants. Blackpool Football Club thanks Danny for his all round contribution this season and wishes him all the very best for the future.’
