In the 2nd Round of the cup, Blackpool were the visitors to Pride Park where they took Derby County and former Pres*on boss, Billy Davies, to extra time and eventually penalties on their road to victory – Captain Michael Jackson the hero of that night, netting the winning penalty.

This time around, once again after Jacko saved the day following a disappointing performance (to put it kindly) against Southend, Simon Grayson’s men have been rewarded with a 4th Round tie to struggling Tottenham Hotspur.

After a disappointing start to the season, the London side find themselves 3rd bottom (at the time of writing) and struggling to grab a victory in the League. Speculation is still running rapid (even though it is only 7 games into the season!) that Martin Jol could be replaced by a foreign manager in order to improve the club’s fortunes on the pitch.

Progressing well in the UEFA Cup and dispatching former Carling Cup winers Middlesbrough in the 3rd Round this past week, they are sure to pose a stern challenge to the ‘Pool players.

The 4th Round ties take place the week commencing October 29th.
