With the news that Blackpool are set to launch a second bid for Patrick McCourt, Celtic have offered the winger a new contract.
Newspaper reports suggested that ‘Pool are ste to launch a second bid for the 26 year old after their initial offer of £350,000 was rejected.
However, speaking to BBC Sport, Celtic manager Neil Lennon said that he wanted to keep McCourt at Celtic:
‘We have offered Paddy a two-year extension and the ball is in his court.
‘I’m aware there is interest, but we’d like to keep him.’
Missing out on McCourt for a second time would be a real blow for Ian Holloway; the Seasiders were set to sign the player on loan back in January before Celtic pulled the plug at the last minute.
