We caught up with Rotherham a Vital editor czar to see if she can offer us an insight into Rotherham for next season.
1. what do you think you need to strengthen to succeed in the championship?
Our defence. We do tend to let some ‘silly’ goals in. And midfield could do with a tweak or two.
2. where do you think you will end up in the championship?
The Gaffer says we are aiming for the play-offs! You have to aim high to achieve! I actually think the three teams who have come up from League One will do OK. If we end up no lower than twentieth then, personally, I think it will be a job well done (but don’t tell Steve Evans I said that!)
3. What are facilities like in your ground for away fans?
Fantastic. We have a brand new stadium. As at any football ground the concourse inside will be expensive but there are plenty of places that welcome away fans in the town itself – some less than a three minute walk from the New York Stadium.
4. Any pubs that are away fan friendly?
Plenty. We have three Wetherspoons in town – Rhino’s, Corn Rhymer and Blue Coats – and the Bridge Inn welcomes away fans, plus others dotted about.
5. any other information you think Blackpool fans may want to know?
There is no parking at the ground and everywhere else is parking meters or payable car parks, all within easy walking distance of the ground. There is a municipal car park in the centre of town. And, I’ve not told you this, but you can always park at Meadowhall and come to Rotherham on the train from there (though to be avoided throughout December!)
