Barnsley have continued their pursuit of ex Pool loanee Adam Hammill by submitting an improved cash offer for the player. The Tykes are eager to tie Hammill down permantly after he impressed on loan at Oakhill last season.

Bristol City goalkeeper Adriano Basso has handed in a transfer request after a falling out with manager Gary Johnson. As yet though, The Robins have received no offers for the 34 year old.

Coventry’s difficult summer continues, with many now tipping Chris Coleman’s side to struggle next season after the sale of left back Daniel Fox to Celtic. Fox has signed a four and a half year deal with the Scottish club.

Neil Warnock has continued to strengthen his Crystal Palace side. Following the arrival of Darren Ambrose on a free from neighbours Charlton, Warnock has signed experience front man Stern John on a free transfer from Southampton. Meanwhile, one time Blackpool target James Scowcroft has joined Leyton Orient.

Newcastle have sold striker Obafemi Martins to German champions Wolfsburg for £8.5 million. The North East are still without a manager and are still up for sale, just days before the new season.

Nottingham Forest continue to spend in the transfer market having signed Polish international midfielder Radoslaw Majewski on a year’s loan, along with QPR striker Dexter Blackstock. They join the likes of Joel Lynch and Chris Gunter who have already joined the sleeping giants this summer.

Plymouth have signed Benin international Reda Johnson from French club Amiens. The defender joins for an undisclosed fee and joins up with fellow new signing, Icelandic international Kari Arnason.

Preston look set to replace Paul McKenna (another one of Forest’s signings) with Cardiff winger Paul Parry. Parry, who can play on either flank, is believe to have agreed personal terms with North End.

The revolving transfer door continues at QPR under new boss Jim Magilton. Argentine midfielder Alejandro Damian Faurlin has joined the club for £3.5 million, Spurs midfielder Adel Taarabt has joined on a season’s loan and striker Alessandro Pellicori has signed on a free transfer after deciding to leave Italy where he had spent his entire career.

Reading have signed Chelsea full back Ryan Bertrand on a season’s loan as new manager Brendan Rodgers looks to build a side capable of winning promotion back to the Premiership.

Scunthorpe have strengthened their midfield by signing highly rated pair Josh Wright and Michael O’Connor. Wright joins on a free from Charlton, whilst O’Connor joins from Crewe for a six figure sum.

Sheffield United have already begun to re-invest the money they recieved from Spurs for talented young duo Kyle Naughton and Kyle Walker by signing Manchester City striker Ched Evans for £3 million.

Sheffield Wednesday have recieved a massive boost after striker Marcus Tudgay signed a new four year deal with The Owls despite sustained interest from Premiership new boys Chelsea.

Midfielder Al Bangura has been released by Watford. Bangura, 21, made national news in January 2008 when he won the right to stay in the UK after an appeal against a deportation order, but has since fallen out of favour with The Hornets. Arriving at the club though is ex Pool loanee Danny Graham, who has joined from Carlisle.
