Some teams in the Championship have been busy building squads for the coming season. The busiest so far Derby County, Paul Jewell`s side who were relegated from the Premiership last season have brought in 4 players in May. The pick of the bunch Nathan Ellington on loan from Watford, he replaces Robert Earnshaw who moved to newly promoted Nottingham Forest for a staggering £2.65m.

Jordan Stewart also joins Derby from Watford, Paul Green moves from Doncaster to Derby and Paul Connolly moved from Plymouth to Derby. Manager Paul Jewell had commented earlier in the month that his side wasn`t ready for the Championship (https://blackpool.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=506563) it looks like the four signings are helping him mold a squad ready for the Championship.

Other picks of players to move include young striker Sam Vokes from Bournemouth to Wolves, Freddie Eastwood anyone? Ashley Williams to Swansea from Storkport who`s a very composed central defender. QPR signed Peter Ramage from Newcastle who played in over 55 games for the Geordies and Radek Cerny form Slavia Prague who spent time at Tottenham last season on loan and even took the place of Paul Robinson for 11 games.

So when will Blackpool make a move for a player? Going back a year Michael Flynn and John Hills signed on the 5th of July, Gary Taylor-Fletcher and Stephen Crainey on the 9th of July. So really we shouldn`t be expecting any signings soon but with a squad of only 18 players and a predicted harder second season we don`t want to be leaving it to the last minuet to bring in players.

Nothing has materialised from the rumors so far, Lee Miller of Aberdeen is a no go after he signed a contract extension, there has been nothing official over Trevor Sinclair or Darren Huckerby who`s names have been touted about on the message boards.
