Blackpool captain Charlie Adam has broken silence for the first time this summer about his future, stating that ‘whatever happens will happen’.

The Scottish international midfielder has constantly been linked with a move away from Bloomfield Road for months now, and it is known that negotiations between the Seasiders and Liverpool over a possible transfer (involving money and players) have taken place.

Aston Villa are also said to have made a bid for Adam, and Manchester United and Spurs are known to have registered an interest as well, so a move to Anfield is far from clear cut at this stage.

Indeed, as it stands, Adam will report for pre-season training with the Seasiders on Monday, unless a deal can be struck over the weekend.

Speaking to the Blackpool Gazette about his future, Adam said:

‘I go back to Blackpool on Monday and that’s the way it is.

‘Everybody knows the situation – the club have met with Liverpool but that’s as far as it has gone.

‘I had a conversation with the chairman (Karl Oyston) but that will remain private.

‘It’s important that we keep everything in-house – whatever happens will happen.’

As always Vital will bring you any transfer news as it happens.
