Manager Lee Clark has said that it’s imperative that Blackpool keep our never say die attitude when we face Bournemouth this weekend.

Bournemouth as everybody knows are flying high, but with us unbeaten in four ourselves, Clark told the Official Site again that confidence was returning and he and the players knew we had to continue putting in as much effort as we have done in recent weeks, especially in a game like this, if we are to pick up something from the game.

‘The confidence levels are much better, there is a belief, a togetherness and spirit. In the last two away games we’ve gone late into the game before getting the equaliser. There is a never say die attitude, we can suffer set backs and recover from them now, which was an area that we had to address. When I first came in and the lads were having a set back you could see the confidence drain from them.’

Of course Bournemouth are a particular test as they come to Bloomfield unbeaten since September, and as well as topping the table they have scored 44 goals so far this campaign so we will clearly have to be at our best, but the manager is confident we can cause an upset.

‘We’ve got to stop them playing their game, but not just that we’ve got to focus on playing our game. We must player with intensity and get at them to give them problems with our game plan.’

The manager adds that clearly we know we are well up against it this weekend, but despite him believing they are the best team in the division, he doesn’t believe anybody is unbeatable and down to us to prove that – especially following their fantastic efforts against Liverpool in midweek and that level of performance from them would’ve been tiring and he’s hoping we maybe can capitalise on that.

‘We know what is expected and we know what we’ve got to do to be winners in the game. The lads have trained hard this week trying to work on that.’
