Manager Lee Clark has spoken of his hope for the upcoming loan window in the Championship and also his belief that good players should be able to perform on any kind of surface with continuing comments when it comes to the state of the pitch and our performances.

Speaking to the Official Site about loans first, the gaffer explained that we would be actively looking to deal in the market to add further fresh legs to the team.

‘We’re looking at players. We are looking at one or two possibilities. It’s important that we bring some fresh faces in that can help us for the remainder of the season. What we do have to add up us the number of loans we have. We must balance those, as you can only use five in your matchday 18.’

Blackpool do already have five loanees with us, so any new additions will see other loanees out of the side of a match day now, but options and quality have to be key given our position in the table.

‘It’s up to me then to juggle the five between however many we’ve got. Obviously in our predicament we’re going to have to do that.’

As for the continuing grumbles about the state of the pitch, especially ahead of ball playing Middlesbrough tomorrow, speaking to Gazette Live ahead of the game Clark said for ‘good players’ it shouldn’t be an issue and for him it’s not because our home form is good, having only lost one of our last six – although the performances themselves arguably aren’t football entertainment.

‘I don’t know if the pitch will get into their mind but I know good players can handle any surface. It’s about how our players are and I know from past experience that we have a different mindset at home, certainly in the last few weeks. These four or five days are crucial to our season so we can only focus and be positive about what we’ve done at home in the past few weeks.’
