Media reports over the past few days have linked Blackpool with a £1 million move for Derby striker Rob Hulse.

Ian Holloway has gone on record as saying that he wants to bring in a targetman to replace Ben Burgess, and according to the national press, he has identified Rob Hulse as that man.

However, Derby manager Nigel Clough today told Sky Sports that he had received no offers for the striker from the Seasiders:

‘We have had no contact from Blackpool.

‘There seems to have been speculation about Rob since we arrived at the club. In January he was going, then again in the summer. It has been every transfer window.

‘But Rob is a great professional and he just gets on with it.’

A potential obstacle to any deal would be Hulse’s wages; the striker, who has enjoyed a potted career, is on more at Derby than any player is at Blackpool.
