Cork Blimey, Rumours are Flooding In!

Steve Finnan and Jack Cork are the latest names to surface as potential Blackpool targets today.

Finnan – who can join on a free transfer after being relegated with Portsmouth – is an experienced full back, who has played at the top level for both Liverpool and Ireland. At 34, he’s now coming to the end of his career.

At just 20, Cork is the type of player that Ian Holloway is looking to bring into the club. Having already had Premiership experience at Burnley, the midfielder could be a shrewd signing.

But all of this is rumour with nothing substantial – despite growing mumurs that ‘Pool had a bid for Cork knocked back over the weekend by Chelsea.

Finnan is the only player to have played in all four divisions in England, plus the Conference, whilst also playing in a World Cup and to win both major European competitions. Surprisingly, his depth of footballing experience could see him ply his trade at the unfashionable Bloomfield Road.

As we reported today, the Seasiders have also been linked with Celtic’s Paddy McCourt.
