Billy Clarke has left Blackpool and joined Crawley Town for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old found life difficult at Bloomfield Road after a move from Ipswich Town.

The winger has struggled with injury and a dip in form over the past two seasons and missed the entirity of Pool’s Premier League campaign.

Following a successful loan spell at Sheffield United, Clarke might have hoped to force his way back into Ian Holloway’s plans. But a lacklustre display in the FA Cup, dubbed as the Irishman’s last chance to impress, saw him transferred to the League Two promotion-chasers, who themselves allowed Matt Tubbs to join Bournemouth.
