December A Crucial Month For Blackpool

The four fixtures Blackpool play in December will be crucial as to whether or not they are to survive in League One.

So far, the Seasiders have had a poor campaign, scoring the least amount of goals in the division and sitting 22nd out of 24 teams.

Whilst last games win against Fleetwood was important, much work is needed on overall performances if Blackpool are to stay up, particularly on the attacking side.

Pool play Wigan away next game which will be very tough followed by Peterborough at home. Whilst Peterborough are a good side, home fixtures are crucial and Pool must get something out of this game.

The two games after christmas are Oldham at home and Barnsley away. Both of these sides are around Blackpool in the table and winning both of these would allow the Tangerines to go into the new year with a fighting chance of remaining in the division.

Yes, it’s sad that all us fans have to hope for is survival in the third tier of English football, but if the club suffers successive relegations it would be an absolute disaster.

Pool must lift themselves out of the bottom four by January. If not, I seriously fear for the club’s future, more so than I do already.
