Nathan Delfouneso’s well aware that Blackpool’s meeting with Newport on Saturday is crucial for both clubs.
Victory for Blackpool and the play-off bid is very much back on track but Newport also need the points as they bid to stay in the Football League.
Confidence is high at Bloomfield Road Blackpool are now seven unbeaten but Delfouneso isn’t getting too carried away with Pools taking ‘each game as it comes’ at the moment.
Delfouneso told the Official Website.
‘It`s a big game for various reasons. We`re looking to push into the play-offs and they`re trying to stay in the league. We`re taking each game as it comes, but we`re confident of putting in a good performance and we`re looking forward to the game.’
On a personal note Delfouneso – with the former England U21 striker in good goalscoring form himself – said he’s enjoying his latest spell at Bloomfield following his arrival from Swindon in the New Year, which brought him back to Blackpool for a fourth time.
Delfouneso’s pleased with the impact he’s having adding he’s hopeful this can continue.
‘I`m always trying to put in good performances, get some goals and make an impact, which is what I want to continue to do. The manager and team have been brilliant with me so I just want to pay them back and continue that good form.’
