Old habits returned for Blackpool on Tuesday with defensive frailties returned with us suffering another heavy defeat at Derby, and yet another failure to end our winless away record this season….

The game was dead and buried inside half an hour with the only positive being that we managed to keep the score down after this as following the initial Derby burst they scored only one more in the four-nil win at the iPro Stadium.

Any positives from recent weeks, and new contract signing news, were swiftly forgotten following this heavy defeat.

Derby, who have struggled recently and have looked in danger of missing out on the play-offs when they looked title winners not too long again, got off to a flying start to ease the nerves when Bryson (3) put them ahead in the opening minutes.

Former Blackpool man and Hull loanee Ince (28), who said coming into the game that his time with us ‘made him as a player’, curled home the second just before the half hour mark and just a minute later the game was up when our defence was all over the place again allowing Bent (29) to make it three.

How many more would it be was the fear at the time but Derby had to wait until the midway point of the second half for another clear chance when Orlandi, not the way to celebrate his contract extension, was penalised for a foul on Shotton to give Derby a penalty.

Bent (65) stepped up to make no mistake and wrap up the four-nil win.
