Wigan’s Momo Diame (no, I don’t know who he is either!) has told the Wigan official site that he wants to teach the Seasiders a very hard lesson on the opening day of the season at the DW season.

The player said:

‘I would like us to give Blackpool a very harsh lesson to welcome them here.

‘I want them to know that they are playing with the big boys now, things are going to change, and we certainly won’t be going into the game with a lighter approach.’

Someone needs to remind this lad that we beat his side 4-1 last season, and that comments like his one above will just serve to fire the Seasiders up. Write us off at your peril and all that.

Since the game was switched from Bloomfield Road to the DW, Wigan seem to be increasingly confident of beating the Seasiders, with the likes of James McCarthy and Roberto Martinez speaking with confidence about the game.

As I said though, write the Seasiders off at your peril.

We are never confident of beating anyone!! As for Diame you will know who he is soon enough though. Looking forward to greeting the Tangerines and pleased to see the banter has started nice and early
