Speaking after Manchester United’s pre-season friendly against the Seattle Sounders – in which he scored – striker Mame Biram Diouf claimed that he knows nothing about a proposed move to Blackpool.

Speculation that the Seasiders had made a move to the highly-rated Senegalese youngster has been rife since the weekend, with some even claiming that it was a done deal.

However, Vital spoke to his agent this week who denied any contact between the two clubs, and last night Diouf, speaking to Sky Sports News, also said that he had heard nothing about a move away from Old Trafford:

‘People are asking me about Blackpool, but no one’s spoken to me. It’s all just rumours.

‘Right now I’m in America, not England.

‘Of course I’d like to stay at Manchester United, everyone dreams about playing for this club.

‘When I got a chance to be with them I always wanted to be here. I want to win trophies here.

‘I’ll do my best, but we’ll see what happens after pre-season.’
