Ian Holloway has secured his first signing of transfer deadline day with the capture of Swansea striker Stephen Dobbie, Vital Blackpool understands.

Dobbie is believed to have signed a loan deal until the end of the season with the view to a permanent deal should he impress.

The twenty-seven-year-old striker has struggled to establish himself at the Liberty since his move from Queen of the South in the summer, but has impressed on the rare occasions that he has pulled a Swans shirt on.

Dobbie began his career at Rangers, but failed to break into the first team. After a loan spell in Australia, he moved to Hibernian, St. Johnstone, Dumbarton and Queen of the South – where he really established himself.

Dobbie is described as a skilful centre forward, and goes straight into contention for Wednesday night’s game against West Brom.
