Quite literally a Dunne deal wasn’t it with Charles Dunne signing on loan for the League 2 side earlier in the week.
We’ll just be hoping that isn’t a level we’ll be playing at next season, which the midweek result saw us move ‘a step closer’ to being the case!
Dunne, who joined Blackpool from Wycombe back in 2013 and has over 30 first-team appearances to his name, has joined Crawley on an initial one-month basis.
Having sealed the deal Mark Yates, the boss of Crawley, told the Official Crawley Website.
‘Left-back has been a bit of a problem for us since Mitch Hancox and George Smith went back to their parent clubs. He played a lot of Championship games last season and he’s a solid and competitive player.’
After making just seven appearances for us this season the 23-year-old was in need of first-team football he doesn’t look like getting under Neil McDonald for the time being so this should be a good move for all concerned.
Dunne is due back at Bloomfield Road on Monday 28th March.
Club Secretary, Nick Alford, was also confirmed as leaving the club this week – well he will with him moving to pastures new from 16th March.
He told the Official Website
‘I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at the club and worked alongside some terrific people but with my family based in the South and a new opportunity having arisen, the time is right for me to leave. I wish the club all the very best for the future and will always keep a close eye on their results.’
With Karl Oyston adding.
‘I would like to place on record my thanks to Nick for his hard work and dedication to the role since his appointment in June. Although disappointed to lose him, I fully understand his reasons for leaving the club and wish him every success for the future.’
Not likely to have been an easy job was it so best of luck to him for the future!
