New manager Neil McDonald has brought in goalkeeper Kyle Letheren and midfielder Brad Potts.

27 year old Letheren moves to Bloomfield Road on a two year contract with an option for a further year, and he arrives from Dundee, where he made 56 appearances for them over the last two seasons and helped them to Premiership promotion back in the 2013-14 season.

On their rise to the Scottish top flight, the former Swansea City youth graduate kept 20 clean sheets for them, picking up their Player of the Year award.

He has previous stints in the Football League with Barnsley and Plymouth Argyle, and he has previously been called into the Welsh squad for their European Qualifier back in August 2014.

Speaking to the Official Site after penning his deal, he explained.

‘I’m delighted to get it over the line, it’s been on the back burner for a week now since Neil rang me. Since he rang me it’s been the only place that I wanted to come to. I’m not just coming here to make up the numbers, I’m coming here to play just like everyone else. I’m sure me and Colin (Doyle) can push each other all the way and that can only be good for Blackpool.’

As for Potts, the 20 year old has signed a two year deal also with an option for a third year, and a compensation package has been agreed in terms of training compensation with Carlisle United for the youngster owing to his age and the fact his contract with them expires at the end of the month.

Having been capped at England Under 19 level, Potts scored eight goals in 43 games for Carlisle last season, and was nominated for the League Two Player of the Month gong back in November.

He leaves them having made a total of 118 appearances since breaking into their first team back in August 2012.

‘As soon as I spoke to the manager I wanted to come down and sign. I’ve played in League One before with Carlisle and I enjoyed it, so hopefully I can come here, play some games and do well.’
