You’ve got to love the national media. They’re lazy. They can’t read properly. Their stories are often ridiculous. Need I go on?

An article in the Blackpool Gazette earlier this week stated how Drummer Hoggy (the guy who bangs the drum at Bloomfield Road and other permitted away grounds) was being encouraged to bang his drum even louder next season and make more noise than the vuvuzelas at this summer’s World Cup, as BFC urge the fans to really get behind the team and make Bloomers a couldron of noise.

From there, the national media seemed to think that BFC have given the green light to fans to bring vuvuzelas into the ground next season.

However, in an official statement released this afternoon, the club denied the stories and reiterated their original standpoint on vuvuzelas:

‘We are keen to ensure the atmosphere created by our fans is better than ever before. But this does not neccessarily mean that vuvuzelas will be permitted [inside Bloomfield Road].

‘We haven’t really given any full consideration to vuvuzelas at the moment. Any decision will be taken in due course and in consultation with relevant supporter groups.’

Several Premier League clubs have already banned vuvuzelas from their grounds next season.
