Rhys made a total of 41 appearances for Pool in 18 months at the club. Signing from Swindon in the summer of 2006 Evans started last season as number 1 ahead of the previous season’s player of the year Lee Jones.

In February last year Evans eventually lost his place to Paul Rachubka after several unconvincing and dodgy displays between the sticks. Chubs’ instantly cemented his place as number 1 and has not looked back since.

This season Evans went on loan to Bradford City, making 4 starts, before returning to Bloomfield Road after injury curtailed his loan spell with the Bantams.

Evans has signed at contract until the end of the season with League 1 strugglers Millwall. The keeper will link up with another ex – Pool player Adrian Forbes.

Sadly Rhys will be remembered for his public outburst against the Pool fans. Evans stated that neither he nor the supporters could see eye to eye, and from that moment on his days at the club always seemed to be numbered.
