Blackpool will face Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup fourth road.

The game will be played at Bloomfield Road on Saturday January 28.

Pool are no strangers to Wednesday, with the sides meeting in this year’s League Cup at Hillsborough. The League One team won on penalties against an under-strength Tangerines.

Gary Megson’s Owls overcame West Ham United at home this afternoon in one of the shocks of the third round.

The Seasiders have made the fourth round of the cup for the first time in five years after the 5-1 demolition job on Fleetwood Town yesterday.

Goals from Lomana Lua Lua, Tom Ince and a Matt Phillips hat-trick were enough to sweep past the Cods, with the impressive Jamie Vardy scoring the home goal.

The last time they were at this stage of the competition, in 2007, Pool drew 1-1 at home to Norwich City thanks to an Ian Evatt equaliser – his first for the club. Unfortunately they lost the replay 3-2 at Carrow Road in extra time and missed out on a trip to Chelsea.

It is the first time Ian Holloway has won an FA Cup game as Blackpool manager and he will be hoping for a second in three weeks time.
