Forbes To Millwall?

Blackpool Vital understands that midfielder Adrian Forbes is on his way to Millwall in the January transfer window.

Reports coming out of the club say that Forbes is set for London soon, in a bid to earn a contract that would keep him at The New Den permanently, with any fee between the clubs being nominal.

The former Swansea man has made just three appearances in tangerine this season, and last played for The Seasiders in the 1-0 home defeat against Cardiff, where he came on as a substitute.

In the summer, Forbes was widely tipped to join League One Gillingham, but that move never materialised. However, it was only a matter of time before he left Bloomfield Road after falling out of favour pre season.

In his 36 appearances for the ‘Pool, Forbes’ performances were up and down throughout, and he was never really consistent enough to hold down a regular place this season, as Gary Taylor-Fletcher came in from Huddersfield Town.

Public misgivings in the press hardly helped his cause, and although loved by the fans for his attitude, once he moaned in The Gazette about being subbed in a game, he was never going to stay all that long.

A deal is yet to be completed with The Lions, but once Simon Grayson and co get their man (Stephen McPhee?) to replace Forbes, the winger will sign, and is thrashing out a contract in London now.

In other transfer news, Keigan Parker is expected in Barnsley for talks this week, and the four eastern European trialists are coming back to Squires Gate next week.
