Jackson, 32, has signed a one-year deal with the prospects of a further year. The scouser started his career at Crewe coming through the countries most productive youth system. After making a handful appearances for the railway men Jackson moved to Bury.
After 145 appearances for the Shakers Jackson moved to Preston North End for 125k. He made over 280 appearances at Deepdale before departing for Tranmere.
At Tranmere he was made skipper and played over 90 games in two years after an initial loan period
The second player to come in today in winger Adrian Forbes. The 27-year-old has managed to net a two year deal with the obligatory extra year deal.
Forbes started his playing career at Norwich, he came through the ranks from a trainee to make 66 league starts for the Canaries. He was then the subject to a 60k move to Luton Town where he would go on to make 39 league starts scoring 14 league goals.
In 2004 he moved down a division to Swansea and made 48 league starts bagging 11 league goals. He was released at the end of the season by Kenny Jackett, forbes can play on either wing
