New arrival Ian Black has been speaking about his move to Blackpool and the former Hearts and Rangers man is guaranteeing 100%.
Having most recently been with League One Shrewsbury Town, his last game was on December 30 but he told the Official Site that he felt fit and raring to go should manager Gary Bowyer call on him to take a spot in midfield this weekend as we face Exeter City.
Should he feature it will of course be his debut.
‘When you play football you play to win, I was brought up with the mentality of when you cross the line you make sure that you’re better than your opponent, and you come off with nothing else than a win.’
The 31 year old went on to explain that he felt personally like he was in the right fitness state to debut, so it’ll be over to the gaffer as to whether or not he’s involved this weekend.
‘I’ll always say I’m ready, I’ll never say never. I want to play every game, but that’s up to the manager. I’ve only had a few days training so preferably I need a few more, but if selected and they want me to play then I’ll give 100 per cent. There’s 15 games and I’d love to play all 15 of them, maybe more if we get to the play-offs. As soon as the gaffer selects me, I’ll make sure I’m ready to go.’
Making the switch to the club, is he is among familiar faces as he knows the likes of Andy Taylor, Jim McAlister, Kyle Vassell and Neil Danns and he knows that’ll help him settle in anyway – but most importantly he’s been impressed with the quality of training since his arrival.
‘I knew four or five boys before coming in so that makes it easier. It’s a great squad, I came here to achieve things and it’s the same drive right through.’
