The Gazette are this morning reporting that Blackpool first team coach Steve McPhee left the club after a row about wages.

McPhee left the club yesterday, with ‘Pool manager Ian Holloway remarking:

‘I feel for him to be fair. I can understand the chairman’s point of view but he (Stephen) is adamant that he can’t work for that (wage).

‘I liked his development. I thought he had been absolutely outstanding over the summer.

‘But as I told him, I can’t change certain things. It is not my position to do that. I can only make recommendations.’

In a bit of good news though, Blackpool have announced who their new goalkeeper coach is – BFC legend George Wood.

Wood made 117 appearances for the Seasiders during the 1970s and has since coached at Cardiff, Hartlepool and Swindon.

  • Silly man walking away. He should have stayed until he had gained a position elsewhere….Seems your Mr Oyston is back to his old tricks….
