Despite being a regular at Bloomfield Road over the past few seasons, Paul Rachubka is not guarenteed to be new boss Ian Holloway’s first choice keeper when the season starts next month.

Indeed, his under-study last season, Matt Gilks, will tonight get a chance to stake his claim to be first choice keeper at the club in the Seasiders’ friendly with Carlisle.

Gilks had difficult first season on the coast, starting just four games and being sent out on loan to Shrewsbury.

He may even find himself third choice stopper this season if the highly rated young Mark Halstead impresses.
