Today`s game was from a Gillingham perspective was one that we definitely could not lose and as it turned out it was one that we should really have won.

We dominated the game from start to finish and for a few dodgy decisions by the officials we could have and probably should have had another two penalties.

Romain Larrieu between our sticks had hardly anything to do in an afternoon that saw Blackpool score two goals – one a sublime free-kick that he had no chance with, the first however should have been cleared by our centre-half Brent Sancho but he played around and in it went from Ben Burgess.

In the end I would think that Blackpool would be the happier team leaving the Priestfield with the point.

Blackpool came to the Priestfield with a reputation as a good side and looking for promotion from League One but what we saw was an ineffective performance from a team full of attacking promise.

I think it was clear that you missed Kiegan Parker and Scott Vernon from the start and when they did come on in the second half they did not really get on the ball much as the Gills looked to attack and try and get the win.

Paul Rachubka was certainly the busier goalkeeper and pulled off a few good saves to keep your side in the game not least the poor penalty from the Gills captain, Michael Flynn.

All in all I’m not sure if you play many more games like that you will get promoted this season.

But good luck for the rest of the season.
